What Is Citrine?

Citrine is a golden-yellow to amber variety of quartz, colored by traces of iron. Its name comes from the French *citron*, meaning "lemon" — a reference to its warm, sunny color.

Natural citrine is actually quite rare; much of the citrine on the market is heat-treated amethyst (which turns yellow when baked at high temperatures). Both natural and heat-treated citrine carry the same meaning in crystal healing.

Citrine Meaning: The Stone of Abundance

Wealth. Citrine is famously called the "Merchant's Stone" or "Success Stone" — it is believed to attract prosperity, abundance, and financial success. Many shopkeepers keep a citrine in their cash register.

Joy. Citrine carries a warm, sunny energy that is believed to dispel depression, self-doubt, and negative thought patterns. It is like wearing a piece of sunlight.

Confidence. Connected to the solar plexus chakra, citrine boosts self-worth, willpower, and the courage to pursue your goals.

Energy. Unlike many crystals that absorb energy, citrine is believed to *transmute* negative energy into positive — it doesn't need cleansing.

How to Wear Citrine

Wear citrine when you want to attract abundance, boost your mood, or step into a more confident version of yourself.

For business: Wear a citrine bracelet to meetings, interviews, or negotiations.

For mood: Wear citrine on gray days, during winter, or whenever you need an energy boost.

Citrine does not need cleansing (one of very few stones that doesn't) — it is self-clearing. Just wear it and enjoy.
